"NATIONAL ALPACA WEEK OPEN DAY A SUCCESS"

From humble beginnings Alpacas have now been in Australia for 21 years, together with this the United Nations has designated this the "International Year of the Natural Fibre".
To mark both events the Australian Alpaca Association (AAA) held a National Alpaca Week from May 2 to 10.

Encantador had a very successful week, opening its doors so that general public, hobby and serious livestock farmers could see the animals up close on farm, observe sheds, fencing, watering, pasture types etc, that are hard to fully comprehend at show or field days.

The open days also showed the enthusiasm of the alpaca breeder and showcased the lifestyle created living on an acreage and breeding these low maintenance easy to handle enchanting livestock that seam to give pleasure to so many.

Getting up so close and personal with the Alpacas (especially the new born cria's) viewing the whole range of fleece colours, seeing and feeling the luxurious garments their fleece can be made into gave many a totally new understanding of the extent to which the Alpaca fibre can be used and a new perspective on the future of the industry.

So if you missed out on our open days or just want to see and learn more about these amazing creatures, feel free to call Murray Judy or Mark at Encantador on 9399 7919 or e-mail us by clicking Encantador Info

"BIG CROWD FLOCKS TO 10th ANNUAL WILLIAMS EXPO"

Encantador was again one of the major exhibitors at this years 10th annual Williams Expo, with a big crowd gathering from far and wide to partake in the weekends attractions.

As one of the premier sheep shows in the state, with quality line-ups of merino and meat breeds, traditional livestock, dog and horsemanship demonstrations, sheep farmers were increasingly turning their interests to the long necked fleece animals known as Alpacas.
