ENCANTADOR EMBARKS ON EMBRYO TRANSFER PROGRAM

In early December Encantador Alpacas embarked on its first Embryo Transfer procedure with renowned Alpaca veterinary specialist Jane Vaughan of CRIAgenesis.

Using one of our top OLD Peruvian girls (14+ years) and our prized stud male (National Supreme Champion 2003) "Blue Grass Centurion", we were able to obtain 7 embryos to transplant to waiting recipient females.

Now its just a game of wait and see. (Fingers crossed)

LITTLE MISS MUFFET GOES SUPREME

Encantador Little Miss Muffet being proudly shown by Mark Stannard after being awarded Supreme Champion Huacaya at the 2005 Albany Show.

Little Miss Muffet was also awarded the inaugural Champion of Champions perpetual trophy donated by the Albany Royal Agricultural Society for the best of breed between the Supreme Huacaya and Supreme Suri.

Judge Rick Hodgson said it was her fineness (13.7 micron) with her other outstanding attributes (bright white lustrous well nourished, bold crimp style, even throughout with minimal medulation) that made her the complete package.

Now heavily pregnant to National Supreme Champion Blue Grass Centurion, we can only wait to see what the progeny of these two champions brings.

LITTLE MISS MUFFET WINS "NATIONAL CHAMPION ADULT FEMALE" AT BENDIGO

Judy Stannard stands proudly with Encantador Little Miss Muffet after winning Champion Adult Female at the 2005 National Show in Bendigo.

The Judges Julie Bird and Bill Plunkett were very impressed with her bright white super soft ultra fine well nourished fleece (13.7 micron) with its good density, consistency of micron and bold style across the whole body.

After the long flights to and from Melbourne the road trip to Bendigo and the stress of 3 days at the National, she is now content and resting in her paddock after being mated to our other big National achiever Blue Grass Centurion who won National Supreme Champion Huacaya in 2003 and almost again in 2004 (see articles below)

During the year Little Miss Muffet also picked up

CHAMPION INTERMEDIATE FEMALE at Whiteman Park
CHAMPION ADULT FEMALE at Fairbridge Village Show

RESERVE CHAMPION ADULT FEMALE at Perth Royal Show
NATIONAL RESERVE CHAMPION FLEECE 12-18 MONTHS
